How I stay safe while traveling, hair physics, relationship between physical beauty and abundance, why creativity is the highest form of power, AI, curiosity, and more
Money, children, and dogs share one thing in common: they all gravitate toward people that make them feel safe.
Getting robbed on the streets is no different than getting beaten at the poker table. I’m of the perspective that if someone is smart enough and bold enough to walk away with my valuables, they deserve to keep their prize money. Everything born out of nature seeks the path of least resistance. Robbers are no exception. To avoid falling victim to a crime, we must know how to create resistance.
I love my stuff, and my stuff loves me back. Every item I own is an extension of my thoughts, my energy, and my desires. My belongings would rather stay with me than anyone else. Getting my stuff to part ways with me is like getting a dog to part ways with their owner. God loves prayer like a little kid loves praise. Before stepping outside my house, I take a moment to pray for my desired outcome, e.g. return home safely with all my belongings, and if the prayers get answered, I acknowledge the universe’s hard work with a heartfelt “thank you”.
The irony of money is that it always chooses the people who can’t be bought. Wealth follows power, not the other way around. A woman has unlimited power when she abides by her natural frequency. As a society, we went from worshiping mythological deities to Hollywood celebrities with plastic surgery, but never have we worshiped our own bodies. We endorse other people’s bodies more than our own even though God put the Kingdom of Heaven inside each one of us.
Our bodies make up the entirety of our experience of life. We don’t perceive the world; we perceive our nervous systems. When you have a good relationship with your body, you can go anywhere. Rationality is both a useful tool and our greatest pitfall. Gavin de Becker writes, in his book The Gift of Fear, “You have the gift of a brilliant internal guardian that stands ready to warn you of hazards and guide you through risky situations.” The difference between the mind and the body is the difference between a calculator and a quantum computer. As women, intuition isn’t something we need to cultivate. What we have to get into the habit of is saying “no” to the interjections from the mind, which may be subtle enough that we don’t even realize they’re from the mind. As an example, suppose I want to wear heels one day and walk around for no reason. My mind is going to come up with all kinds of reasons for why I shouldn’t do so. It’s my job to let my mind know that I don’t need a reason to do what I want to do. The mind isn’t our enemy. When given the proper instructions, it’s our most loyal servant. The mind loves having something to do. We can use the mind to our advantage by giving it tasks. For example, if you say to your mind, “I want something delicious for dinner but I’m not sure exactly what”, it’s going to drum up a whole list of options for you to choose from. One trick I use when dealing with a mind that keeps running the same thought over and over again is to direct my attention to my breath (if I can remember to do it). Anything that controls you does so by withholding your breath, so when you free your breath, you free your whole nervous system.
The body gives physical form to life, and life knows what is conducive to itself. Physical beauty is tied to love, romance, wealth, and victory as governed by the Goddess Venus. Therefore, when we’re able to see into our own physical beauty, we unlock all the other axes of abundance.
Human beauty is undeniably one of the hardest things to emulate with technology. The reason why the animated film Tangled (2010) had a budget of $260 million is because hair dynamics is the most complex algorithm in computer animation. Metaphysically, hair is an extension of the self and a physical manifestation of one’s thoughts. Indigenous shamans believed that hair acts as an antenna, picking up extrasensory information from the subtle energetic realms. Darker, fuller manes in lions indicate higher levels of testosterone. A curl pattern resonates at a predefined frequency. Natural texture occurs when hair is allowed to find its friends. My best advice for taking care of hair is to enjoy it. Pleasure is the body’s internal guidance system. The body leads us to our highest form of vitality by showing us what feels good. Sensuality comes from our ability to feel. The word “euphoria” comes from the Greek word for “healthy”. There’s no time when I feel more protected than when I’m fluffing up my hair in front of a car window. It’s as if there’s an invisible force field assembled around me to keep me safe.
For some reason, every time I’ve tried to put a filter on a photo of me, it’s never looked right. The mechanism in which light bounces off skin is similar to what gives the ocean its multitude of colors. When I don’t feel beautiful, I change my mind, not my body. I don’t believe that there exists a version of me that’s not beautiful because God doesn’t make anything that’s not beautiful. Greek mythology teaches us that to be divine is to allow all aspects of ourselves to be expressed. When we surrender to the archetypes within us that we previously considered shameful, we awaken to the truth that the world is nothing but a stage where we get to act out different manifestations of God as characters. As Carolyn Elliot puts it in her book Existential Kink: Unmask Your Shadow and Embrace Your Power, “Shining pure light is nice and all, but it does not make for a riveting cinematic experience.” Creativity, expression, drama, and play belong to the 5th House in astrology, ruled by the sign Leo. The 5th is also the house of pleasure. Many yearn for creativity as it’s the same life-giving energy as fertility. Creativity isn’t something you can search for. It is gifted to you when you start getting truthful about your feelings.
George Bernard Shaw articulated, “We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” Jesus welcomed children, saying, “Let [them] come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Luke 18:16). Creativity makes us powerful beyond belief, and there’s no greater power in this universe than the innocence of a child.
If we define intelligence as the ability to find the perfect answer, then without a doubt, AI is already far more intelligent than any human. Nonetheless, as far as I know, no AI has ever asked a question, something that a little kid does without being prompted hundreds of times a day. Without curiosity, we wouldn’t stand a chance. I’m not sure which tasks ChatGPT will displace first, but I’m secretly hoping that it can put an end to LinkedIn posts where a line break is inserted after every sentence (“Hey ChatGPT, how can I turn this regular occurrence into a virtue signal?”). Those who have jobs that involve giving orders as opposed to taking them are the safest from AI disruption. Cats just so happen to fit into this category. Maybe one day we’ll reach a point where AI will start asking questions about the meaning of life, but until then, I will continue to address them by their preferred pronouns. Take this little guy for example. You can’t possibly tell me that he has no soul.
